Help!

Does anyone know where I can buy these?? I have ebayed to no avail.... I have tried junk shops as well, but no joy there either...any suggestions gratefully received, thankyou kindly.

We didn't get away this weekend. The campsite we had in mind was fully booked, and I have to confess I was glad, especially late on Friday evening when the heavens opened. And boy did they open! I lay in the bath listening to the rain pound on the porch roof and thought the ceiling was going to fall in. I think we can safely admit to being fair weather campers. And why not?! Not a great deal of fun to be had in sitting in a wet field, no matter how lovely a view.

Thankyou for your kind words and questions regarding the cafe. We are STILL not open, largely due to the solicitors, who seem to be particularly relaxed about the whole procedure. The decorating is done though, the menu more or less decided (although open to changes!) and this coming week will be spent finishing off little bits and pieces, like cleaning fridges, sorting recipes and finalising the sign writers' designs.

I am quite excited about meeting the 'Mosaic Lady' as she has become known, tomorrow morning. She is bringing over her work so we can decide what to hang, and where. It will be lovely to have some art on the walls, as despite them being beautifully painted now, they do look a bit bare.

In case I haven't mentioned it yet, the cafe is called No.9, because it is erm, number 9 in the road...nice and simple (just like me...)

NEWS JUST IN!!!- Liz, thankyou for your comment, that would be great, but I can't get hold of you, your message won't let me! have googled the store in Tunbridge Wells but it is 'under maintenance' which is a shame...would you mind emailing me?Thankyou!

I have one! Mine came from a shop in Tunbridge Wells called Jeremys Home Store and I think it was about a pound. I am quite willing to go and see if they still have them in stock and post some to you, if that would help.(Is measures 6" x 8")

Hi Anna,

Does it have to have the border? I found mine via Ebay - will email you the link just in case. No. 9 sounds fab. We finally decided on City Lights and have designed a logo which I'm going to do in Applique as well (when I get a minute!) and then I will update my blog SOMETIME this week (kids are at my parents!) So pleased everything is going well for you, you totally deserve it. Love S xxx

Hi Anna.. I was on the same mission for these last year and managed to find mine at Daylesford Organics at vast expense!!!
It looks as though you have some leads but I will keep looking for you.
I have a large chalk board with a carved wooden frame that is my kitchen notice board. If you want a photo let me know and I will give you the suppliers contact details.
Good luck..

How big does it need to be?
I think www.orientaltrading.com might have some.

OR you could make your own! You can buy chalkboard paint or google "make your own chalkboard paint" and you can make it any color you want!

HTH!

Hey honey, yes the Jeremy's store is greta for things like that and they are £1.99 each, I was only in there on Saturday.
I don't mind calling them for you too as they put bits by for Molly cupcakes in the past. Just drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.
I could always bring them with me at the end of this month sweetie safe on the postage? if that;s not to late for them. How any are you after?
Glad you still had a relaxed weekend and the rain didn't spoil things to much.
Many hugs.

I would try any of the "pound shops" if you have them down there - they are "two a penny" up here! (sorry lame pun there!)

Not a clue, sorry! So very glad you have lead from someone. You can make your own blackboards simple by painting MDF with blackboard paint--nothing fancy, but it works! I like No.9...Simple is always easy to remember and it's quite catchy. So excited for you in this new venture. Hope you'll get to have your grand opening soon! ((BIG HUGS)) Oh, stop by if you can, I'm having some gift giveaway fun this week at my place... :o)

As has already been mentioned, get yourself some blackboard paint. You can make whatever shape you like from MDF and paint it, you could even use a fancy photoframe around to make it look really cute. Good luck!

Hi, I bought tiny chalkboards with exactly the same frame from Ikea but that was some years ago. I'm not sure if they still sell them but good luck.

Have you tried the Early learning centre or any toy shops? I got one at ELC a few years ago.
Hope that helps

I've just stumbled on someone selling these on ebay at a reasonable price. Hopefully (!) you'll find it here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FRENCH-CHILDS-BLACKBOARD-IDEAL-FOR-KITCHEN-NOTICEBOARD_W0QQitemZ310075325747QQihZ021QQcategoryZ66637QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem.
Alternatively, the sellers name is janethompson64 so you could try searching for that. I did have a nice vintage one in my shop a while ago but it sold pretty quickly! Deb x

It's a bit late, I know, but you can get these easily in France - I think the kids must use them at school to save paper...
