Fairy cake-tastic

After a hugely exhausting and highly entertaining, in many ways, week, we raised a brilliant £470.13 for Comic Relief. We are all delighted with the support we have received from our fabulous No.9 Team and customers, who have all been so very supportive.
And Mr Wogan? Well, he gave us another mention on Friday morning!! This time it was a general update with how much we had taken so far from the sale of fairy cakes, the Silent Cake Auction (which in itself raised £140) etc.etc. Cue much cheering in the middle of the cafe when we heard it!

We really are so amazed at peoples generosity-one person bid nearly £30 for one cake! Customers were stuffing notes into our Red Nose bucket, and the whole atmosphere all week was totally brilliant.
Oooh, and as Columbo would say, 'Just one more thing' - To the very nasty ahem 'lady' leaving me vicious emails, you might want to brush up on your computer skills and learn exactly what 'Anonymous' means-it's not as secure as you had obviously hoped... I know exactly who you are, and if you feel the need to keep emailing me, maybe we can get together and I can share some 'home truths' with you as well? Get a life, concentrate on your own business, and stop making up rubbish about mine, you saddo.
To everyone else-thankyou! You make blogging such a pleasure. xxx

congrats. glad the auction went well and the fairy cakes look fab. Can't believe you're getting nasty emails some people have no life have they. Obviously someone is very jealous of your success haha to her. And as for being mentioned on Terry Wogan - fame indeed and well deserved too.

Congratulations on the amazing red nose day festivities, sounds like it went really well. It looks like you worked really hard. I think you work so hard and put in lots of love and care to your business and it clearly is paying off.
Sorry to hear somebody is leaving you nasty emails, its ashame some people feel threatened that they have to put a downer on other peoples success. Some people i guess see things as a competition

take care x Dom

I heard the second mention on Terry Wogan on Friday (I missed the first mention as I turned over when Girl's Aloud came on!).
I've been reading your blog for a while, but this is my first comment. Hi!

Wow - well done you! That's an amazing amount to make, and I hope that the mentions from Tel have given you lots of extra customers. Also, well done for standing up to your evil 'lady'. Some people just can't handle the success of another and lead very sad lives. Something similar happened to me when I started work, and I (and everyone at work) knew exactly who it was. Some people should just get out more.
Still, focus on the fame and fortune, and forget about the negatives. I'm nearly at the stage where I can pop in and sample some of those lush cakes again, so see you soon!

Holy Moly Anna - how many of those little cakes did you bake? :-O You must have had cherry nose fatigue by the end of it. Congratulations on the amount you raised - brilliant.

Drum roll please for the totally fabulous Anna and the No.9 team.
WELL DONE TO EVERYONE, how amazing to raise so much cash.
I bet you feel on top of the world right now sweet girl.
And to get not just 1 but 2 mentions from the leadge that is Mr Wogan wow.
We coming up to Cheltenham this weekend, i will try my very best to pop in and see you honey, we're there from Saturday until Monday and little break for Mummies day.

As for the not so anomous nasty lady, take not notice of her jealousy. Some sad people just don't have a life of their own and choose to step on others that are doing good for themselves. Should i send up the Cupcakes to give her a good going over lol lol Daisy's got a good swinging arm hehe! and Molly a ear splitting scream ARGH! lol
I hope it stpos soon, you don't deserve rubbish like that. It makes you start to dread opening your emails. And you must get so many lovely ones.
Thinking of you sweetie, if you need me. You know where i am.
Lots of love,
Catherine x

How I love your blog. What fun to do those fairy cupcakes! Congratulations on your success.

Say, I'm taking my blog private so I am sending you an invite to be able to stop by if you wish or have the time. (Your e mail address is on your profile, I hope?)

For anyone else who maybe knows me or is having trouble getting in, please e mail me at WendyOhW@yahoo.com if you found the door to my blog locked and had wanted in. There is just one problem person I am screening out. An attorney, specifically. Not you.

Loved the post about the warm jammies on the heater and the adorable pegs and so forth. And those cakes ... Mmmmmmmmmmm!

Wish I lived in England!

I'm back in the land of blog - hurrah! How the heck are you, I'm so sorry not to have visited for ages, how's the crochet class going? Liz had her baby a few weeks back so we won't be able to visit for crochet for a while but of course that won't stop us visiting for those divine bacon sarnies!
Well done for raising so much money, it's a tribute to what a fab cafe you have.
Ignore those nasty emails, there are some very unhappy people out here who try to make themselves happy by making others as miserable as them - she's not worth the heartache, just you concentrate on what a success you are, it's so well deserved.
See you very soon, Julia xx

Hi, I love your blog and totally covet your Cafe. I love tea rooms and cafe's. I would much rather eat in these establishments than in fancy restaurants - the food is always so much better! I have you on my list of places to visit. Sorry, but I dont listen to Terry Wogan (I'm clinging to my youth(!!!!) and trying to stick with radio1 - but it is hard. ) but great to hear that you got a mention.
