It's been a busy couple of weeks or so....

These pictures will all make sense when you reach the bottom..Blogger is still messing me about, but I shall sort it soon! In the meantime feel free to coo over the pretty pink cakes!

Today- Making pavlova for tomorrow when my folks come for dinner. Never fear, Ma, it will also be laden with cream and strawberries...

Last week- teaching myself at last (with the help of a ladybird book!) to crochet. It may have wobbly ends but there are no holes and I am quite impressed so far..will it be a rug? (for a very small person) or a cushion cover perhaps? Hmm. Don't cushion covers require sewing though? We'll chat more about that venture another time, perhaps.

Sliding around whilst exploring rock pools in St Ives. A lovely early birthday present, and one most thoroughly enjoyed by us both. But not my jeans, unfortunately. A diet of salad and fruit from here on in. After strawberry pavlova, obviously.

Mussels clinging onto the rocks- the photo doesn't do justice to the amazing sight of thousands of shades of blue.

It would be fair to say that it rained just a little. But who cares when sights like this greet you when you look out of your window?

The pirates were also in residence.
Wave watching from the balcony

A couple of weeks ago we held another birthday party at No.9. This time for 13 girls with a fondness for pink. It would be fair to say I was in my element! The cake pictures at the top of the page won't let me move them to the bottom of the page, for some reason.

Nancy, thankyou so much for the loan of the party book- none of it would have been possible otherwise. I promise to send it back soon, honest!

Mmmmmmm so much yumminess in one post! The party looks fabulous - I bet word of mouth will get you oodles more bookings.

Keep up with the crochet, I'm trying to learn too - slowly getting there.

The pictures of your holiday spot are really lovely. Funny about your jeans ... mine seem to have shrunk too.

Oh, I want a party like that! Those goodies that look like huge iced gems - are they meringues on biscuits? Yummy.

Ah you've mastered the crochet then!! I'm still doing chains :0(
St Ives looks lovely, what a lovely Birthday treat..seeing wet sand like that always makes me crave for fudge!
(and seeing scrummy girly cupcakes like that also makes my jeans shrink! funny that..)

At least you've made a start with the crocheting. We never had parties like that when we were younger!

I don't need the book until September at the earliest, so hang onto it for as long as you like. Your creations look wonderful! I especially love the sausage melon in a sea of hula hoops. I would LOVE to sit in a sea of hula hoops.

Welcome back cafe owner extraodinaire
Hope your nostrils are still full of that wonderful sea air. Did you go to the Sloop? I wonder if it is still there.. have not been for yonks!
Now.. have you got those cakes under control and put them in their place?
Could do with some tips on Pavlova's and crocheting.. not necessarily in that order.
Much love

Your cucumber monster was so hilarious - after seeing your blog I just had to make one for our BBQ yesterday (it was a snake peeking out of the rocket with a ham forked tongue). Unfortunately it didn't scare away the guests - they hung around for hours!!!

The crochet is looking great.

wow wow WOW.

Amazing food decorations.

Very fun!

I especially love the pink cupcakes with the pink kiss tops. It reminds me of when I was a kid and my big sister used to make those out of jello and egg whites. SO yummy.
